Is ‘Nobody Wants This’ a True Story? How a Real Relationship Inspired the Netflix Rom-Com Series

News

Erin Foster may not have married a rabbi, but much of her new Netflix series Nobody Wants This, is based off her relationship with husband Simon Tikhman.

Prior to her Netflix rom-com series, Erin Foster was best known as the cofounder of Favorite Daughter, a clothing brand she runs with her sister, Sara Foster. Those names sounding familiar yet? Well, they’re both daughters of record-producer David Foster (aka, the guy married to Katharine McPhee).

But forget about her famous family for a moment. Considering you’re probably about to fall in love with Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) when Nobody Wants This drops on September 26, we thought we’d catch you up to speed on the relationship that inspired Foster to bring them to life.

On May 15, Foster describes Nobody Wants This as a “Rom-Com born out of me falling for a nice Jewish boy and never looking back. ❤️” That sounds like a fair assessment, as the real-life couple got engaged after just one year of dating in August 2019. Their engagement only lasted about four months before they got hitched on New Year’s Eve.

According to the New York Times, Foster converted to Judaism for Tikhman, the co-founder of entertainment and talent management company, The Core Entertainment (TCE). “It all worked out,” she said. “I love being Jewish.”

Here’s everything we know about Erin Foster and Simon Tikhman’s relationship, with the most recent updates up top.
