Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek Are Not Feuding

There’s no bad blood between Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman. After a clip of the actresses looking tense while taking photos together at Balenciaga’s spring-summer 2025 runway show during Paris Fashion Week went viral this week, a source close to the women is setting the record straight on their friendship. 

“Nothing happened,” an insider told People, adding: “They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation. People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing.”

In a video making the rounds on the internet, the two can be seen posing for photos together alongside Katy Perry when Hayek put her hand on Kidman’s arm in an effort to seemingly get her to face the camera. Kidman then proceeded to remove Hayek’s hand from her arm and turned away to hug Perry, before exchanging a few words with the Frida star and walking away. 

The source continued, “This whole situation is silly. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.”

While Kidman and Hayek aren’t BFFs, they do share several connections. For starters, Kidman is the new brand ambassador for Balenciaga, which is owned by Kering, Hayek’s husband François-Henri Pinault’s luxury group. Meanwhile, Hayek has also maintained a years-long friendship with Kidman’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise, after they first met while working together on the 2006 film Ask the Dust.
