Hangout Music Festival 2024 was an absolute time. When you think of Alabama, your first thought might not be endless sky-blue waves crashing into the sandy white coast, but that’s exactly what you’ll find at Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores. Roughly 15 minutes away from the Florida Gulf Coast panhandle is an annual festival built around leisure and swimwear. If you’re anything like me and grew up near the beach, then you’ll find yourself right at home at Hangout.
The fashion at Hangout feels reminiscent of traditional festival wear, with Western inspirations seen throughout. The main difference between a festival like Coachella or Stagecoach and Hangout is its three-day music extravaganza is sat right on the beach. Attendees swish through the sand to each stage and can even take a dip in the ocean in between sets, which really influences the style seen at the festival. Everyone bases their outfit around some swimwear, so the accessories do all the talking.
Though it’s now expanded out to include several pop, rap, and EDM artists, at its core, Hangout Festival is a country music festival, so, of course, we saw a ton of cowboy hats. There also were a ton of belt buckles and Western belts with jewelry and scarves to match. One of the best parts of the festival was all the matching moments — from best friends to boyfriends and friend groups, we saw an assortment of matching outfits during the three-day party.
