My Mom Convinced Me to Buy These Summer-to-Fall Sandals From Crocs

My mom and I share an affinity for footwear, but even though we have a similar fashion aesthetic, our preferences differ when it comes to shoe styles. I favor sneakers, given that I walk a ton living in New York City; meanwhile, she lives by the beach and embraces sandals all summer. While home for the weekend, I noticed my mom wearing a new pair of shoes that caught my eye. They were a pair of reddish-pink platform rubber sandals from a brand I never would’ve ever expected: Crocs.

My mom has been notoriously anti the classic Crocs clog, so her choice to buy its Brooklyn Slide Sandal surprised me, but I was more shocked that these stylish, on-trend sandals came from the “ugly” shoe brand. Nonetheless, my mom raved about how comfortable they were, and before I knew it, I added a pair to my Amazon cart.

Despite being a classic sandal, my mom has perfected styling them for the upcoming fall months, pairing them with utilitarian cargo pants, a crisp white tee (we’re both fans of The Supercool from AYR), and an oversized button-down. On warmer days, though, she throws them on with a shift dress, and they look just as stylish.

While I rarely wear sandals in NYC (I hate the thought of my feet touching city streets), I could see myself wearing this pair since the platform gives me a lift up from unsavory sidewalks. Best of all: Crocs are waterproof, so they’re easy to clean.

My mom isn’t the only fan of the platform sandals, though. Amazon shoppers say they are  “incredibly comfortable” and “perfect for everyday wear.” One reviewer wrote that they purchased all three colors of the clogs, adding they are “worth the money,” while another with plantar fasciitis said they were “so excited” when they purchased these shoes, knowing they wouldn’t hurt their feet.
