This Breezy and “Wrinkle-Proof” $20 T-Shirt Dress Is a Shopper-Favorite

As someone who spent most of their childhood wearing a school uniform, I have to admit that old habits die hard, and the phrase “summer uniform” definitely still applies to me. While I experiment with statement pieces from time to time, my everyday outfit rotation is an endless rotation of plain white tees, worn-in denim, and if I’m headed out, an oversized tote bag. While living at home for the past few weeks, however, I’ve been spending more time with my mom, and realized she has a classic wardrobe staple of her own—the T-shirt dress.

After seeing her wear these for so many years, I’m surprised how long it took me to realize what a genius garment it is. Flirtier than a normal tee but still packing all the comfort, T-shirt dresses are perfect for people like me who can’t give up their basics, but still want to look like they put effort into their outfit. And while there are thousands of T-shirt dresses out there, I knew that I wanted one that was lightweight enough to beat the heat, as soft as my go-to tops, and most importantly, as budget friendly as possible. Although I’m eyeing the black option, this swing dress comes in 50 colors, is available in sizes S through 3XL, and is made from soft and stretchy material. The dress also features a flattering rounded neckline, hemline that hits around the mid-thigh on most people, and, my favorite part, pockets on each side (perfect for throwing one of my dozen lip products into).

Since the recent humid temperatures show no signs of lowering, lightweight fabric was another one of my dress criteria. Thankfully, Amazon shoppers have called this one “breezy” and “airy,” adding that the dress’s “cooling fabric floats away from the body.” Plus, another shopper, who said the dress is “perfect for summer heat,” noted that the material “doesn’t show moisture.”

The dress is a hit with buyers in terms of comfort and fit, too. One reviewer called it “flattering” and said it “looks a little more put together than a basic T-shirt dress.” And since I have some trips coming up, I was also relieved to see that a shopper who’s bringing the dress on a Caribbean cruise called the material “wrinkle-proof,” while a second person added that it’s the “perfect little dress to pack for travel.”
